Website Update Request Process
The standard process for submitting, tracking, and completing website update requests for GolfBack client sites. All team members who request website changes should follow this process.
When to use this resource
Use this page any time you need to request a change to a client's WordPress site — whether it's copy updates, image swaps, new pages, structural changes, or bug fixes.
How to submit a request
- Go to the website request form (link in the Quick Links section)
- Enter the client name and site URL
- Describe the change clearly — include before/after if helpful
- Attach any assets: images, copy docs, or reference links
- Mark the priority: routine, elevated, or urgent
- Submit and expect a confirmation within one business day
Request categories
- Copy update: change text on an existing page
- Image update: swap or add images or photos
- New page: add a new page to the site
- Structural change: modify layout, navigation, or page architecture
- Bug fix: something is broken or displaying incorrectly
- SEO/schema update: metadata, schema markup, or technical SEO task
What not to do
Do not ask the website team directly in Slack without a formal request. Requests made outside the process cannot be tracked, prioritized, or guaranteed a turnaround time. If you're not sure how to categorize a request, ask in the website team channel before submitting.
Urgent requests
Marking a request as urgent does not skip the queue. If something is truly blocking a client, message the website team lead directly after submitting the formal request.
